1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Visa-Me LLC ("Visa-Me," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit visa-me.net, sign up for our free guide, or purchase one of our paid guides.
We are based in Texas, U.S.A. Our products are available to customers worldwide, and this policy applies regardless of where you are located.
2. What We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address — when you sign up for our free Quick-Start guide, purchase a paid guide, or contact us
- Name — if you provide one at purchase or in a support email (we do not require it)
- Payment information — when you buy a guide; this is handled directly by our payment processor (Gumroad) and never touches our servers
- Country — we may ask which country you're applying from to recommend the right guide
- Support correspondence — when you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you
Information collected automatically
- Basic analytics — pages viewed, approximate location (city or country, derived from IP address, not precise location), device type, browser, and referring website. We use this to understand which guides people are interested in and how to improve the site.
- Cookies — small text files stored in your browser; see Section 6 for details.
What we do not collect
We do not collect or store:
- Passport numbers, government IDs, or other identification documents
- Social Security numbers or other tax IDs
- Credit card numbers or banking details (these go directly to our payment processor)
- Information about your specific immigration history or case details
- Sensitive personal information about race, religion, sexual orientation, political opinions, or health
Please do not send us your passport, visa application, or other sensitive immigration documents — we cannot use them, and we don't want the responsibility of holding them.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send you the free or paid guide you requested
- Send you updates when fees or rules change for guides you've purchased
- Respond to your support emails
- Send occasional updates about new guides or significant U.S. visa policy changes (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve our guides and website (anonymized, aggregated analytics only)
- Comply with legal obligations (tax records, etc.)
We do not:
- Sell your personal data to anyone, ever
- Rent or share your data with advertisers
- Use your data to target you with third-party advertising
- Send your data to immigration enforcement or any government agency, except as required by a valid legal subpoena (see Section 5)
4. Third-Party Services We Use
We rely on a small number of trusted services to operate Visa-Me. When you interact with our site, some of your data passes through these services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Netlify (web hosting) — serves the website to your browser
- Kit (email delivery) — sends you the free guide, paid guide update notifications, and our newsletter
- Gumroad (payment processing and product delivery) — handles your credit card transaction and delivers your purchased guide; we never see or store your card details
- Google Fonts — serves the fonts used on the site
Each of these companies is reputable, U.S.-based or U.S.-compliant, and contractually committed to data protection. We choose them specifically because they meet strong privacy and security standards.
5. When We Disclose Information
We will only disclose your personal information in these limited circumstances:
- To our service providers (above) as needed to deliver our products
- To comply with a valid legal request — a court order, subpoena, or other binding legal demand. We will narrowly comply with what is legally required and, where lawful, notify you first.
- To protect rights and safety — to investigate fraud, protect our intellectual property, or in a genuine emergency
- In a business transaction — if Visa-Me LLC is acquired or merged, customer data may transfer to the new owner, but they will be bound by these same privacy commitments
We will never voluntarily share your personal information with immigration enforcement or any other government agency for any other purpose.
6. Cookies
Our website uses minimal cookies:
- Functional cookies — we use browser localStorage to remember your selected language so the site stays in your language on return visits. No personal data is stored there.
- Analytics cookies (if we add Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly alternative later) — to count visitors and pages. These cookies are anonymized.
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time without losing access to our content.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct — ask us to fix any incorrect information
- Delete — request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal obligations like tax records)
- Export — request your data in a portable format
- Unsubscribe — opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us
- Object — object to specific uses of your data
To exercise any of these rights, email support@visa-me.net. We will respond within 30 days.
If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR)
You have the rights above plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data properly. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (which you give by signing up or buying a guide) and our legitimate interest in operating our business.
If you're in California (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of "sale" (we don't sell data, so this is automatic), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
If you're in Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah
Your state has a privacy law similar to CCPA. The same rights above apply.
8. Children's Privacy
Visa-Me is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information:
- All data transmitted to and from our website is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS)
- Our service providers (Netlify, Gumroad, Kit, etc.) use industry-standard security practices
- We limit access to your data to people who need it to do their job
- Payment data is never stored on our systems — only the payment processor sees it
However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to use reasonable safeguards.
10. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as needed:
- Email subscriber data — until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days
- Customer purchase records — kept for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting laws
- Support emails — kept for 2 years, then deleted
- Analytics data — anonymized after 14 months
11. International Data Transfers
Visa-Me LLC is based in the United States and our servers and service providers are primarily in the U.S. If you access Visa-Me from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
By using our site, you consent to this transfer. We use service providers with appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EU customers).
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes affecting how we handle your data, notify subscribers by email. Continued use of our site after changes constitutes acceptance.
